What I loved/learnt?
This podcast episode has a strong message that our happiness is within our own capabilities, which is really empowering.
The methodology to realising your own happiness, is through incremental steps towards what you want. Which has the same sentiment as current theories. So I guess the question is, who was first to came up with the idea that. A small step towards where you want to be, who you want to be, is better than no step at all.
Why listen?
Do you want to explore ways have more agency over your level of happiness?
Intentionally or not, we all put off being happy in preference of doing something that “has to be done” but that we do not enjoy.
This persistent delaying of doing things that bring joy, puts us out of balance. And it is this imbalance that can lead to an acceptance that happiness is something that should only be rewarded at the end. And not something that should be pursued as part of the course.

What I loved/learnt?
There is a lot to learn from each of the topics discussed in this podcast episode. As well as the overall theme, which I understood to be the impact of our perceptions on our actions.
Manifestation for me is a techie topic. It’s definitely because I have not managed to find a way to make it work for me. However, this podcast episode has introduced me to an alternative approach to manifestation. The guest explained how their vision board worked for them as a visual to-do list. That was a constant reminder of things they wanted to achieve. And so prompted them to take relevant action to set them on a course for completing the task. Which for me is a much more tangible way to view manifestation.
The other two topics brought to life the impact our perceptions have on our actions and our beliefs. Which is worth a listen, as we will each have our own perception of the world around us. And listening to what can be done to tweak it, might spark a few unique ideas for how you can overcome something that is holding you back.
Why listen?
Do you wonder how your exposure to particular topics has an impact on your actions?
This podcast episode discusses the different ways exposure and perception can influence our actions and beliefs. The ways in which we expose ourselves to this information. Can be anything from a story we have told ourselves, to a first hand witnessed experience.

What I loved/learnt?
I loved that they covered all types of bullying. It started off from a perspective of a child at school being bullied. Because the guest’s inspiration to investigate the impact of bullying, was due to their child being bullied. But they also cover bullying in the workplace an other areas of adulthood.
They also shed some light on what could draw people to become a bully. And in not so many words they echo the sentiment that the best way to deal with a bully is to standup for yourself and how you want to be treated.
Why listen?
Do you wonder what impact extensive negative experiences, such as bullying, has on your brain?
I’ve recently been introduced to the book “the body keeps the score”, if you haven’t read it, do. It’s a book about how the body stores trauma and how that “memory” impacts our bodily movements. This podcast episode discusses the same topic but with regards to how it impacts our brains. It calls into question the idea that you need to break someone down to build them up.
