What I loved/learnt?
I loved listening to first hand experience of how the laws of the Jewish faith, have impacted the life of a follower.
I particularly enjoyed the synergies that were made between the practices instructed by the laws of Judaism and the modern landscape of wellness and mindfulness. It worked to demonstrate actions to increase levels of happiness and connectedness, that even non-followers of the faith can do.

Do you want to discover meaningful and purposeful actions, that can create balance in your life?
The conversation between the host and guest will guide you through the ways they’re able to promote happiness, kindness and connectivity by following practices, encouraged by Judaism and Jewish law.
It’s an insightful episode for those interested in exploring different ideologies and philosophies to help make sense of the world.

What I loved/learnt?
Hearing the different ways Sheryl Lee Ralph found ways to keep pursuing their goal in the face of adversity is encouraging. I loved the way Sheryl Lee Ralph explained how she used what a director said about why he would not cast her in a movie to her advantage. It’s something I have since been working on doing when people give me feedback.
Hanging onto the negative feedback more than positive feedback, is a trait more of us share than we might think. After listening to this Ted Talk I have been making a conscious effort to hang onto the positive feedback and use that to help me in pursuit of my goals.
Why listen?
Do you struggle to believe in yourself with as much confidence as you believe in others?
Sheryl Lee Ralph’s Ted Talk is full of practical ways we can reframe how we respond to adverse situations that could adversely impact our self-belief. And help to create a sense of agency, and confidence, that we can influence the outcome to be one that is in our best interests.

What I loved/learnt?
This episode uses real life examples to put colour to the concept that we see the world the way we are, not the way it is.
After listening to the episode I’ve been encouraged to question my interpretations and assumptions of the world. So that I can find where my boundaries, or blindspots, are.
Finding ways to broaden your perspective is a large part of personal growth. As scary as it might feel in the moment, it’s a win-win situation. Either you find something new that doesn’t fit with what you believe or you find something new that does and can open new opportunities.
Why listen?
Do you want to understand how your perception of things could be impacting how you experience the world around you?
This episode discusses how the stories we tell ourselves, to make sense of the world can cause us to connect dots that aren’t really there. Particularly when things appear, to us, to be in direct conflict to our beliefs.
They discuss how our perception can limit our ability to take in an experience in its truest form. And how examining the evidence presented to prove or disprove the assumption can shed light on where adjustments in perception may need to be made.
